** A comedy about a ninja girl serving Nobunaga - keeps the jokes flowing at a consistent pace, but not a serious historical show -- AIM

** maxb: Watched episode 1, felt it dragged a bit. Though the cuteness of the Platelets was undeniable :-)

* Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai 青春ブタ野郎はバニーガール先輩の夢を見ない

** maxb: I really liked this series.

** lmm: I wasn't very fond of this, at least as of the first few episodes - felt like it wasn't as clever as it thought it was, and leaned a little too much on sexualisation. Not a veto but I think we can do better.

** maxb: Whereas I most liked the first few episodes, as they had the most Sakuta/Mai.

** And so the proposal was left to sit until the continuation movie (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl 青春ブタ野郎はゆめみる少女の夢を見ない) came out..

** maxb: And unfortunately it turned out to be a '''really bad''' movie. I think there still could be some potential for scheduling the series, but the movie - no, just no.

* Kono Oto Tomare

** Sports/Drama about a music club, playing the Koto. Aired as split cours, but in reality is one continuous show.

** maxb, initially: Exceptionally good, especially in how the characters interact with each other, slightly marred by rushed and clumsy pacing around the cour split.

** maxb, at end: The character introduction segment was splendid, unfortunately the writers appeared to then realise they'd signed up to do a tournament arc, despite lacking any flair for that. The result was a not particularly engaging series of performances, coupled with some really odd pacing at various points... when you're doing your grand exposition of a new foil-to-the-protagonist character's backstory in episode 24 of 26, alarm bells ought to be ringing. Supposedly-dramatic moments were so telegraphed that even I could see where they were going before they went there. This was a show of missed opportunities to be good :-/

This lot were raised as "historical fallbacks" at one point, but none of them look "ready to go" as fallbacks without an explicit proposal to me (maxb), so I'm moving the whole section to the old proposals page.

Quoting our informal planning principles:

* We try to avoid scheduling a show that any attendee strenuously objects to

** This is not absolute, particularly if there are enough "vetos" to make it difficult to assemble a schedule at all

* We would prefer to air a show that some love and others dislike (though not hate) than one that everyone is "meh" about

This is a parking area for shows which received active dislike from one person, and for which we have not, at this point, delved into a delicate evaluation of the principles set out above.

Re-opening discussion about things from here is definitely possible, but would generally require multiple people saying something along the lines of "I am sad about not experiencing sharing this with the group."

* Run With the Wind 風が強く吹いている (sports) --lmm

** I watched 1½ episodes, but I found watching 1 guy trying to force his desire to enter a team running race on 9 other guys who aren't interested to be rather awkward. --maxb

* Love Death and Robots -- Dexsta
