* Lots of museums
* '''Kranj:''' On the way to Lake Bled - a rather picturesque old town that might be worth at least stopping at for 30 mins or so
* '''Postojna:''' 5.7km long cavern, with an electric train! (10:00, 12:00 and 15:00 only) (EUR 20). Takes 1.5 hours
* '''Piran:'''
** A slight diversion on the way to Trieste - might be worth a visit (guess it depends how we are doing on the day):
** Walled seaside town, 'Venician' - looks pretty cool
* '''Maribor:''' Between Graz and Ljubiljana.  Has a castle, etc., but nothing particularly exciting.  Probably not worth it, unless we need to stop somewhere.
* '''Ptuj:''' is also on the Lj-Graz route, and has some stuff. If we can get there on the 6th (i.e. move Bled/Bohinj to the end of the loop), then we can see the [http://www.kurentovanje.net/en Kurentovanje Carnival parade]. If not, it seems there may be smaller Kurentovanje events until the 8th.
The alternative to the Ptuj-Maribor route is to go into Austria further west, and go to Graz via Klagenfurt.
