** I think this has merit (currently have watched 17/25 episodes), ~~though~~ it ~~is the slowish/sentimental sort, so would be improved by careful slot planning. It~~'s ~~nominally~~ romance ~~I suppose~~, but ~~I'd say "~~storytelling ~~/ character interaction" is a better description of its primary feel~~. --maxb

** Starts powerfully, with a very interesting double-length episode 1. Then proceeds to spend episodes 2 through 12 in one long flashback. Episode 13 finally returns to the present and then leaps forward to years after. It's a good story, but I feel slightly cheated by the chosen format. --maxb

** The pacing of the initial few episodes was a bit slow. However, it really got enjoyable after that, and as we move into the second cour, it's really showing promise. Also, intrigue. Explosions. Dragons. The most hilarious military character ever. I think it's a candidate. --maxb
