Sat July 12th - Mon July 21st or thereabouts (Lmm has to be in Kaş for the 21st or just after.
Concept: following the route of the orient express, as seen in The Last Express. (Note that this is a different route from that seen in e.g. Agatha Christie).
Plan:
- Saturday: morning Eurostar to Paris, day in Paris, overnight train onwards to Munich (or stop in Strasbourg?)
- Sunday: day in Munich, overnight train onwards to Budapest (or stop at Vienna?)
- Monday: day in Budapest, overnight train to Belgrade
- Tuesday: day in Belgrade, overnight train to Sofia
- Wednesday: day in Sofia, overnight train/bus to Istanbul
- Thur/Fri/Sat: Istanbul! Perhaps staying at the Pera Palas Hotel
- Sun: Lmm needs to leave Eskisehir at 16:00 to get to Konya at 18:00 and then hopefully find a bus to Antalya
