buy (all costs ph): buy £220, sale -£150, insurance £110, insurance reclaim -£65, tax £20, fuel £100, tolls £20, tunnel £25: 250 ph

TOTALS: £900 ph for hire, £850 ph for purchase (with an additional, but hopefully reclaimable, further float of £215 ph) risks involved: hire, we will be charged through the nose in case of accident. buy, we lose the float but only have to pay a pittance for scrapping and a flight home.

assumptions in the above: that food and accommodation can be had for £15 per dude per day (this is based on information from a. google and b. hihostels.com) and that petrol prices are about what they are here.
